• Fell of the horse. I love our horse (she's called Myran and here's a photo of her), but she can't be trusted in some situations, stupid of me to do that.

  Ramlade av horse. Jag älskar vår häst (hon heter Myran och här finns en bild av henne), men man kan inte lita på henne i vissa situationer, dumt av mig att göra det.

• Hurt my back and butt and was very pleased with not hitting my head, but I still got a concussion.

  Gjorde illa min rygg och ända och var väldigt nöjd med att jag inte slog i huvudet, men lyckades ändå få en hjärnskakning.

• Lay down for the rest of the day. Very boring, but I had no option.

  Låg ner resten av dagen. Hemskt tråkigt, men jag hade inget val.

Tuesday

• Woke up from the first night of sleep in my own bed. It was hard to get up.

  Vaknade efter min första natts sömn i min egen säng. Det var svårt att stiga up.

• Disassembled the old wardrobe.

  Monterade ner min gamla garderobe.

• Moved the little bull calf to his own box. He can stand and walk like a normal calf now, but he still has huge problems getting up by himself. Living in the new much smaller and less slippery box will make it easier for him.

  Flyttade den lilla tjurkalven till en egen box. Han kan stå och gå som en normal kalv nu, men han har fortfarande stora problem med att stiga upp själv. Att bo i den nya boxen, som inte är så stor och halkig kommer att underlätta för henne.

• Assembled the workstation for my laptop. Again with great assistance from my brother.

  Monterade den nya arbetsplatsen för laptop. Återigen med fantastisk hjälp från min bror.

• Woke up and had plans to go and buy paint early.

  Vaknade och hade planerat att åka och köpa färg tidigt.

• Had to help to pull out a calf instead. The largest newborn calf I've ever seen. It was dead, which is sad, but the mother is okey and that's good.

  Var tvungen att hjälpa till att dra ut en kalv istället. Den största nyfödda kalv jag nånsin sett. Den var död, vilket är tråkigt, men mamman mår bra och det är bra.

• Went riding with our horse.

  Red vår häst.

• Bought paint.

  Köpte färg.

Thursday

• Fed a newborn bull calf. He went through a very difficult calving, cause he came with his hind legs first (that's the wrong way), and he had to be pulled by his hind legs to get out. Unfortunately that made the legs distorted and he couldn't get up even with assistants.
• Got crazy over the decorating of the friggebod. So many options, so little space, and money.
• Listen to Henrik Torehammar for two hours on the radio.

• Realized I had more money to spend than I thought.

• Fed the little calf. He can't stand up without support yet, but he can eat from his mom.

• Fed the little calf again, but he prefers to eat from his mom now when he can. He can stand by himself now and even jump around a bit.
• Made up my mind about what to get from IKEA, more or less at least.

• Got up, drove the IKEA with my mom and sister.
• Looked and shopped at IKEA. Some of the things I saw was a disappointment, they did not look as good as in the pictures online and in the catalog, fortunately close to everything that I had planned to buy did look good and where in stock.
• Drove home again.
• Felt very tired.

As you may have noted I did not write anything yesterday and today I'll only write this short post. I've just been lazy and done almost nothing. I hope all of you have had a wonderful start of the new year and I promise to do my best to entertain you in 2009.

Som du kanske har märkt så skrev jag ingenting igår och idag kommer jag bara att skriva det här korta inlägget. Jag har bara varit lat och gjort nästan ingenting. Jag hoppas att ni alla har haft en fin start på det nya året och jag lovar att göra mitt bästa för att underhålla er under 2009.

The entertainment will just have to wait a few days. I've just packed my bags and I will soon be on my way back to Hägn. Starting Saturday or Sunday I'll be back to posting regularly again.

Underhållningen får bara vänta några dagar. Jag har just packat mina väskor och snart kommer jag att vara på väg tillbaka till Hägn. Från och med lördag eller söndag kommer jag att skriva regelbundet igen.

Several of the blogs that I read have written lists of seven things about themselves. In order to give, any reader that I might have or get, a chance to know me a bit better I've made such a list too. You'll find it below the picture. Enjoy!

The second garment I made from one of my handwoven fabrics. The pattern technique is called dukagång.

1. My favorite color in the whole wide world is orange. Bright glowing orange. Like in the picture. I don't link orangey colors that aren't orange to me at all. I especially hate a kind of faded orange that has a bit of pink in it. Sometime people see that color and thinks that I will like it. I will not, I want the real deal.
2. I like to know a process from the beginning to the end, to know and master everything. Well, at least if it's something that I'm interested in. That makes me extra proud of the things that I've got that are made of wool from my sheep Elsa (she's no longer alive, which also makes 'her' stuff super important). I feed her and took care of her. I shore her. I carded the wool. I spun the yarn. Some of it I dyed with vegetable dyes. And finally I knitted something out of her wool.
3. If I don't already have an opinion in a subject, I can't help but feeling drawn to having the opposite opinion to that of the majority, or the one that no one else has! I'm really good at thinking of things from another persons perspective, which is mostly good. I don't hate people, cause to me it's pretty obvious that the people that do bad things aren't as lucky as I am in one way or another.
4. Normally I don't like to watch a movie or an episode of a TV-series that I've already watched. With one exception, Friday Night Lights. I love it beyond words.
5. One of the best times in my life was when I went to school in one part of Sweden, had my boyfriend in another and my family in yet another. I appreciated that I could concentrate on one thing at a time and I felt so lucky and fortunate to have so many good things in my life when I traveled between those places.
6. To me, Christmas is decorating the Christmas tree with my siblings on the eve before Christmas eve and to eat my families Christmas ham. But since I am a loving and caring girlfriend I will spend this Christmas with my boyfriend, without those things.
7. A lot of the things involved in sewing, weaving (especially weaving), knitting and the likes, is really boring to do. But I want the result, so I do them anyway. I definitely hasn't done a craft because I find the process especially rewarding. The reward is in the end, when I have something that is unique and only mine.

In the recent issue of Weavezine (a great online, free weaving magazine), there's an article written by me. It has instructions on how to make a skirt. How to make the fabric, how to make the pattern and how to sew it.

It did take some time to write the article and it was somewhat complicated as I'm not too familiar with the English terminology in weaving and sewing. But it does feel great to have written a published article. If you haven't already checked it out you can read it here!
