welcome, this is Made in Hägn

As you know, a lot of the content here is written in both English and Swedish. Up until now, the RSS feed has contained both languages. Now that has changed! The old feed with both English and Swedish is still available, but now there's also two new version.

Som du vet så är en hel del av innehållet här skrivet på både engelska och svenska. Fram tills nu så har RSS flödet innehållit båda språken. Nu har det förändrats! Det gamla flödet med både engelska och svenska finns fortfarande kvar, men nu finns det också två helt nya versioner.

The English feed will not contain any paragraphs in Swedish, they are all removed. Now there's also a brand new page with all the options available for those of you who want to subscribe, take a look and make the best choice for you.

Det svenska flödet kommer fortfarande att innehålla en del engelska, rubriker och bildtexter, det översätter jag inte till svenska. Men all text på engelska, som också finns på svenska är bortplockad. Det finns också numera en helt ny sida med alla alternativ för dig som vill prenumererar, ta en titt och välj det som passar dig.

Those of you following this blog through the RSS feed, will see (have already seen) that old posts have appeared again as new. I'm so sorry about that. I just found out that the I had the links back to the original posts where wrong and I had to fix it. Again, I apologize about all of it. I just have to check everything twice in the future.

Ni som följer den här bloggen via RSS flödet kommer att se (har redan sett) att gamla inlägg har dykt upp som nya. Jag ber om ursäkt för det. Jag upptäckte just att jag hade fel länkar tillbaka till originalinläggen och var tvungen att rätta till det. Återigen, jag ber om ursäkt för allt. Jag måste bara kolla allt två gånger i framtiden.

Todays sketch will have to wait until tomorrow, cause I can't upload any images right now. Don't know why. If the problem's still here tomorrow I'll look into it more.

Dagens teckning måste vänta till imorgon, eftersom jag inte kan ladda upp några bilder just nu. Vet inte varför. Om problemet är kvar imorgon så får jag undersöka saken ordentligt.

I'm from Sweden, so Swedish is my first language. However, on the Internet I've mostly read and written in English. There's more information available in English and more people who knows English. Therefore I've never really thought of not writing in English on this site. If and how to write in Swedish, has on the other hand been on my mind a lot.

Some times I've planned to make Made in Hägn entirely bilingual, with two versions of every page. That's not what I choose to do in the end. It would have been more work and was happy to make something a little bit simpler. There's really confusing to write in two languages at the same time too...

There's one thing that make me want to write in Swedish. If I would compared the English language blogs that I follow to the Swedish language blogs that I also follow, I actually read more or less everything in Swedish, not so with the English. And I would really like to have Swedish readers!

So from now on I'll write parts of every post in Swedish too. This was the plan from the beginning, just haven't got around to it sooner. It shouldn't be to hard. I've always wanted the important content to be mostly visual. This is just an exception!

Jag är från Sverige, så svenska är mitt modersmål. Men på internet har jag för det mesta läst och skrivit på engelska. Det finns mer information på engelska och fler människor som kan engelska. Därför har jag aldrig tänkt på att inte skriva på engelska här. Om och hur jag skulle skriva på svenska, har jag dock tänkt på mycket.

Ibland har jag planerat att göra Made in Hägn helt tvåspråkigt, med två versioner av varje sida. Så valde jag inte att göra. Det skulle ha krävt mer arbete och jag gjorde gladeligen något enklare. Det är förvirrande att skriva på två språk samtidigt också...

Det är en sak som gör att jag vill skriva på svenska. Om jag skulle jämföra de engelskspråkiga bloggarna som jag följer med de svenskspråkiga, så läser jag faktiskt nästan allt på svenska, men inte allt på engelska. Och jag vill gärna ha svenska läsare!

Så från och med nu kommer varje inlägg att skrivas på svenska också. Det var planen från början, det har bara inte blivit av tidigare. Det borde inte bli så svårt. Jag har alltid velat att det viktiga innehållet ska vara visuellt. Det här är bara ett undantag!

Now every page that I have actually written any code for is online. The final part was the links section. There's not that many links there yet, it takes some time to add them.

The next step will be to make some improvements on the CSS code and perhaps some minor changes, plus the fun part. To code the next section! I need to plan it a bit more, but soon I can begin.

Things are going as planned and now there's a page with a contact form. The next thing that I'll do is some work behind the scene. Nothing that will benefit anyone other than me! Just as it should be...

It did take a little while longer than I expected. A database query that needed some thought among other things, but now this site has a RSS feed. I'm going to add more links to it and fix some other things tomorrow, it's late and I need to sleep.

It's not much there yet, but now there's a archive availibel. Hopefully it will be well used in the future when this site is full of interesting posts.

I'm hesitating about using the word blog cause, although this is what this is at the moment, it's not the only thing that will be available here once everything is finished (not that it will ever be really finished). I must also admit that, not that long ago I never thought I would run a blog. Just didn't seem like my thing to do. But now I've realized that a lot of people enjoy the concept (including me) and that's a good thing if you want to get your message out there.

Plus a blog can be anything the author wants!

I want mine to be friendly and filled with inspiration and information.

Tomorrow I'll work on the RSS feed, but I think I'm going to post something slightly inspiring later today.

Welcome to Made in Hägn. This is the first post at this new Website. It's quite empty and uninteresting right now, but sooner or later that will change (I'm hoping on sooner, but guessing on later).

My name is Frida Karlsson and I'm the person behind Made in Hägn. Eventually this site will mostly evolve around textiles and other inspiring things. But for now, I think I'll mostly use it to document the progress I'm making with the development of this site itself. You see, I'm the type of person who wants to know everything, make everything by myself, have total control and get everything exactly like I want it. I'm not really there yet...
