Crocheted earrings
You'll need:
Some yarn, as a suggestion a thin yarn. For example embroidery yarn made of cotton or linen. I used linen embroidery yarn. A matching hook. 40 small beads (possible a few more if you want to have some between the stars and the hooks). 2 earring hooks.
ABBREVIATIONS
- ch = chain stitch
- sl st =slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
- *…* = repeat
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st p= a slip stitch with a bead
If you're not sure how to crochet, go here.
THE STAR
Slip on 20 beads to the yarn. The simplest way is to take a thin sewing needle. Thread it with some sewing thread and tie the thread ends togheter. Put the crochet yarn through the loop of sewing thread. Put the beads on the sewing needle and thread them over to the yarn.
Base ring:
8 ch, join with sl st
1st round:
1 ch, 15 sc into ring, sl st to first sc
2nd round:
1 ch, * 2 sc in 1 sc from previous round, 2 sc, * sl st to first sc. You'll now have 20 sc.
3rd round:
3 ch, * skip 1 sc from previous round, 1 hdc, 1 ch, skip 1 sc from previous round, 1 dc, 2 sl st p, 1 ch, 2 sl st p, dc in the same sc as previous dc, 1 ch, * skip 1 sc from previous round, 1 hdc, 1 ch, skip 1 sc from previous round, 1 dc in the sl st from previous round, 2 sl st p, 1 ch, 2 sl st p, sl st to 2nd ch at the beginning of round.
Make one more star.
Weave in all ends.
finishing
Soak the stars in starch and put a pin in each point. Stretch it properly. Let it dry and attach the earring hooks.
